Save Code Snippets directly from VSCode, then store and share them with your development team, enhancing collaboration and introducing better code documentation. Which in turn, will help you and your team to become more efficient. 

Our platform drastically cuts down development time, by making AI code generation and storage more accessible.


## What are code snippets?

Code snippets are small, reusable blocks of code that can be inserted into a larger program. 

They are typically used to automate repetitive tasks and to make it easier for developers to quickly implement commonly used functionality. 

Code snippets can be written in any programming language and can range from simple lines of code to complex algorithms.

## What do we have planned for the future?
We shall be integrating and updating the system with new features listed on the Discord.

## What code and programming languages does GPT-4 know?
GPT-4 is mainly focused on natural languages (English, Spanish etc) but has also been exposed to various code languages during it's training and hereby understand and can write code as well.

### Step 1

Click the Install button on our [VSCode Marketplace page](https://marketplace.visualstudio.com/items?itemName=CodeSnippetsAI.CodeSnippetsAI) to install.

### Step 2

Start your free trial or purchase a subscription [Here](https://codesnippets.ai/pricing).

### Step 3

Copy your API Key from the [Organization > Extension](/settings/organization/extension) page in your account.

### Step 4

Go back to VSCode and Click the settings button in the footer of the Chat window.

### Step 5

Paste your API key, and select the AI model you would like to use.

>Ensure you have selected the Default model to use for requests. Without this, questions will not be sent.

### Step 6

Reload VSCode, and you're ready to go!

### Step 1

Select some code in the editor.

Right click to open the context window.

### Step 3

Select your desired AI function from the context window.

The AI response will be loaded in the Chat window.

### Step 5

Click the Copy button around some code to copy it to your clipboard. 

OR 

Click the Insert button to insert it directly into the editor, at the cursor position. (If you still have code selected, like in the image, it will insert and replace the code you have selected).
